Double Challenge Canvas

Hi everyone,

Popping by to share a 9" x 12" canvas I have created for 2 challenges.

Photo was taken last week when we made a short trip to the beach and as usual Gabriel will try to pick up some seashells for me. So this canvas was adapted. Decided to have some fun with words..... Instead of using the the tongue twister "she sells seashells on the seashore", I changed it to "he picks seashells on the seashore"! :)

The whole background was created with loads of Prima products:

Prima Bloom Spray: Glistening Waves, Soft Teal, Summer Sky and Sunshine
Prima Finnabair Art Basics: Heavy Gesso in Black, Heavy Gesso in white and 3D Gloss Gel
Prima Finnabair Art Extravagance: Texture Paste in Platinum Crackle and Texture Paste in White Sand.
Prima Finnabair Art Ingredients: Glass Beads in Zinc and Glass Glitter in Pearl
Prima Shabby Chc Treasures Resins
Prima Junkyard Findings Junkyard bulbs

Other supplies:
Mixed of seashells from craft store and some picked by my boy
Anchor wood veneer from SaCrafters
Medical Gauze

Here's some close up shots for a closer look at the textures. Love all the bumps and cracks!

Let's focus on the challenges,

First challenge I'm taking part in is the Prima PPP April challenge. Out of the delicious color palette, I choosing with work with green, yellow, blue and beige.
Here's the link to their challenge: http://prima.typepad.com/prima/2015/04/aprils-bap-ppp.html#more

Next Challenge, of course it's one of my favourite challenge blogs :)
Scrap Around The World!
This is the link to their April challenge:

This is a gorgeous mood board! Cause I love everything I'm seeing! I think I have taken inspiration from the whole board!!! From the seahorse, to the star fish, sandy beach, seashells and colors. LOL.

Alright, that's all I have to share today.

Thanks for popping by and happy crafting!

Prima March BAP challenge

Hi everyone,

Back again today to share a layout which I have created for Prima March BAP challenge. Below is the sketch board. For more details, you may visit this link: http://prima.typepad.com/prima/2015/03/come-join-in.html#more

2015 March BAP Jennifer

I had difficulty finding my creativity mojo this month which is largely due to the sadness over the lost of our founding Father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. A hero in my heart that has built Singapore from a 3rd world country to a first world in a short span of 50 years.

During the mourning week, through all the exposures in school and television programmes, Gabriel grew to understand what Mr Lee Kuan Yew has done for us. He surprised us by writing a Thank You note to Mr Lee. Hence with that sweet note, we brought him to one of the tribute centre - Marina Barrage. When we arrived at the tribute centre, he wrote another message to him in the condolence book.

Naturally as a scrapper, I documented all these moments for him to look back many years later.

This is the layout I created.

Supplies used:
Prima Pattern Paper: Butterfly Collection - Princess Papillon
Prima Pattern Paper: Divine Collection - Canzone
Prima Pattern Paper: Romance Novel Collection - Time Travel
Prima Pattern Paper: Cigar Box Secrets Collection - Perfecto
Prima 6x6 Stencil - Crackle
Prima Color Bloom Spray - Soft Teal
Prima Metallic Chalk Edger - Platinum
Prima Metal Die Doily - Pineapple
Prima Metal Die - Leaves
Prima Flowers and butterfly
Prima Trim - 5 petal flowers

Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad - Tea Dye
Daler-Rowney - White Gesso
Twine - my own

As usual, sharing some close up photos before I end this post.

Thank you for popping by and Happy Crafting!

Double Layer Canvas - Wish Come True

Hi lovely crafters out there,

I'm up super duper early today to share a mixed media canvas created for SaCrafters which I will also be submitting for Scrap Around The World Challenge.

I have used a 2 canvases on this project for a pop up effect. Base is a 9"x 12" flat canvas panel and the top is a 7" x 9" stretched canvas.

There is alot going on here, from the texture background to the mosaic effect using scrap pieces of chipboard diecuts on the front canvas. Most of all, I love the heart gear which is one of the new items from SaCrafters store. Hence it became the centre of attraction.

I'm also proud to mention that I managed to transfer some used embellishments taken from an old layout to this mixed media canvas project. That's the idea behind scrapping right? To use "scrap" pieces :)

Do check out my 6mins video on the whole process.
In the video, I have also listed out all the supplies I have used at every stage.
So you may want to get ready a pen and paper to note down any details.

And these are the direct link to the SaCrafters items used. Remember to type in Priscillafans for a 10% discount in SaCrafters store.

Heart Gears

When creating the canvas, I have actually worked around this lovely mood board from Scrap Around The World March Challenge.

I was inspired by 3 things in the mood board.
1) In the top left photo, the background and horse mane has lead me to create the the crackle and sparkling base. The horse mane looks soft and feathery; inspiring some feathers going onto the canvas.

2) The quote "There is sunshine in my soul today". That leads me to being happy, hence the "be happy" tag on the hot air balloon. In addition to that, the pretty sunshine also means "the start of a fabulous morning" which you can find this quote on the chipboard embellishment above the mini fairy. With all the motivational tags, hopefully everything goes well. Hence, may all our wishes come true!

3) The color of Yellow and shades of Blue in the mood board inspired the whole background color. There are some tint of greens on the canvas cause yellow + blue = green. Agree?

Alrighty that's all for today. From the sunny side of Singapore, I wish all a great week ahead :)

2 piece Inspirational Canvas for SaCrafters

Hello everyone, how's your weekend?

I went for a late night movie...Kingsman. It was a great movie. I love Colin Firth! Caught him in Pride and Prejudice, Bridget Jones Diary and still love his movies after all these years :)

Well the reason I'm back today is not to discuss about Colin Firth; I'm here to share a 2-piece inspirational canvas (7" x 9") which will double up as a great decor piece. So here it is!

As usual, I do not use traditional paint brush. I find that I paint better with my fingers and sponges. So this background is created with a facial sponge. Don't believe me? Scroll down and catch my video :)

I really enjoy the whole process of creating this striking background inspired by the great mother nature......sunset is the theme. Do you?

Oh I nearly forgot, the quotes are printed on a cardstock and layer of matte medium has been applied to ensure that the ink will last.

Well, my boy loves it and said that we should keep this and not give to anyone. But I'm thinking of doing some good deed with these 2 canvases. Sell them off and donate the proceeds to an appointed animal rescue centre. Good idea right?
