Prima Metal Frame - Clock

Hi everyone, I have altered a Prima Metal Frame Clock for our local scrap store - Made With Love Singapore this month. Before you read on, be warn that this is gonna be a looooong post. Ready?

So I altered this lovely Prima Metal Frame Clock from........

Apply a thin layer of white Gesso
Once dry, put on a 2nd coat of Tim Holtz Clear Crackle Paint
Premixed Prima 3D gloss gel with micro beads and apply on the top and front of clock concentrating on the centre portion

Apply a thin layer of Prima Chalkboard Paint in SeaBreeze
Once dry, add more texture with Art Anthology Stone Effects Dimensional Medium in Sandstone concentrating on the micro beads area

Create black specks all over the clock to give a rustic look.
You can achieve this with Black Gesso / Black paint and a toothbrush.
Simply dilute the black gesso or paint, dip the toohbrush into it and use your fingers to run across the brush for some speckles.
Note: do not have too much paint on the toothbrush or you will get big blots of black paint instead of small speckles. 

Next, prepare the backing for the embellishment.
I have recycled the packaging from the clock and also a scrap cardboard cut out from carton box.
Dimension of the circle should be about 13cm

Randomly peel off the top layer of the cardboard piece to reveal these pretty grooves.
Then apply a layer of white Gesso to prepare it for mediums we will be adding on.

Next I have used 2 different Prima Texture Paste on the cardboard backing as shown in the picture.
Prima Texture Paste in Graphite and White Sand

While we are waiting for the texture paste to dry, I have premixed 3D Gloss Gel with Glass Glitter.
Apply the premixed paste once the texture paste has dried completely
Mix a little Mica powder to water while waiting for the Gloss Gel to dry
Once dry, lightly brush on the the mica mixture

In case you have not notice from the previous picture, I have decided to cut out another small piece of cardboard for more layers.

With the backing piece done, it's time to fussy cut some decorations.
I have fussy cut the pretty flowers out from Marion Smith Junque Gypsy Collection.
Cut out were distress with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye
Tag is fussy cut from Kaisercraft Oh So Lovely Collection which I have given it a subtle background by stamping some butterflies from Hero Art and Staz On Ink pad in Dove Gray.
Gave this tag some blings by lightly brushing over with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam Paint in Chandelier

Prima Resin has been dabbled with Chalk Ink for a worn look

Distress the paper string with white Gesso or white paint and you are done with the preparation of your decorations.

Adhere your embellishments to the cardboard backing before sticking it onto the rim of the clock.

Final steps, tie the string round the top of the clock and top up some prettiness with a flower.
In order to get the nice curls, I have use a quilling tool to twirl both ends of the strings

That's it. You are done! Not that difficult isn't it? :)
