13arts October Challenge

Hi everyone,

Today I'm sharing a page which I have created to take part in 13arts challenge #23.

This month's challenge is hosted by one of my talented girlfriend......drum roll....Jelissa Mei!! What other reason not to enter right ;)

Ahem...so here's the rule of the challenge...
1. Use a white background for your project. It can be cardstock, watercolor paper or patterned paper. You can have motifs and designs that are coloured but the base must be white and the white should still be visible after all your alterations.
2. Use a black and white photo. For cards or art journals, your sentiments/journaling should also be in either black or white.
3. The colours on your project should come from paints or mists, or any other colorants (distress inks, water colors etc). This applies to embellishments as well ie. if you use flowers or letters, they should be white or cream and you color them with your paints or mists. There's no restriction on what colours you want to use - you can have rainbows or you can have all black and white.
4. A song (title or words are ok, in your language of choice) as your theme/title.

So this is what I came up with for the challenge. I LOVE this photo which was taken in Alive Museum recently. We look into each other's eyes and it was a really sweet moment :)
With that said, it reminds me of a song by Frankie Valli.....My Eyes Adored You. Have you heard of this song? Otherwise, you can click on this You Tube link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K33eU4ptq9g
The lyrics of the song is a sad one but it's so touching and the song title is just so perfect for this photo. Yes?

So here's so close up photos to highlight a few things I have done on this layout:

Leaves were cut using Prima Die on a white card stock. Misted it with Heidi Swapp Gold Mist.
White flowers from Prima too which I have misted with their yummilicious Bloom Sprays in Soft Teal and Glistening Waves.

The background was created with Prima mediums Bloom Spray, Chalkboard Paint and Chalk Ink on Tim Holtz's Stencils. Sequins were added around the page to give it a soft glister effect.

This chandelier is from Dusty Attic which I have painted with white paint, coated with a layer of clear crackled paint and finally dab on some Distress Ink in Broken China.

Hope you like this layout and do make some time to take part in the challenge. This is the prize for the challenge which to me is awesome!

It will be awarded with shopping voucher for 13 arts store worth - 60 PLN with free international shipping. The winner will be invited to join us in one of our challenges as Guest Designers.

Crossing my fingers that I can get some 13arts mediums and paints to play with :)

Happy Crafting!
