Chinese New Year 2014

Blink Blink and the long weekend for Chinese New Year is over. Sob sob...it's back to work tomorrow.

Felt like it was just yesterday when we were busy with all the preparations from buying new year goodies, new clothes to stocking our fridge.

So while we were busy with all the last minute stuffs, Gabriel had his very first Chinese New Year celebration in Tao Nan School. He wore this yellow dragon chinese costume to school. Red looks so good on him!

On Chinese New Year eve, we had a good relaxing drive into Malacca. For the first time in more than 10 years, we were blessed with no traffic jam at all and had time to rest in the hotel, take a walk around Jonker Street before heading back for reunion dinner.

Wish we have such luck every year! It really does make a huge difference. Here's a photo taken infront of a temple in Jonker Street.

Chinese New Year will not be complete without Lion Dance isn't it?

This hotel (Majestic Hotel) we stayed in has Lion Dance Performance on the 2nd day of Chinese New Year. At the beginning of the performance, fire crackers were lit; this is something we will not get to see in Singapore as fire crackers are ban here. Glad that Gabriel has a chance to experience it!

I still remember that the best thing about Chinese New Year are the red packets. But for Gabriel he has another perk....he gets to play with his cousins! He enjoyed meeting his cousins so much that on the very night when we came back to Singapore he was already missing them :(

Let's hope that their next play date will not be too far away.

Before I end this post...I take this chance to wish all my readers.....may the year of the horse brings lots of joy, good health and good luck!
